Acquire a 10% ownership stake in an emerging Canadian start-up. Applicant and the designated organization jointly hold more than 50% of voting rights. Moreover, this investment package extends beyond a single venture, allowing for additional investments in various other promising start-ups.

To receive permanent residence, applicant must be actively involved in the management of business within Canada. The business must be incorporated in Canada and operation of business must take place in Canada.

Who Can Get
Canadian Residency

The Canada’s start up visa program allows the primary applicant, their spouse and dependent children to obtain residency.

As the primary applicant, you must be at least 18 years of age and meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the Start-Up Visa. This includes having a qualifying business and securing a commitment from a designated Canadian venture capital fund, angel investor group, or business incubator. You must possess a clean criminal record and must be medically sound.

Your spouse or common-law partner can be included on your Start-Up Visa application. They do not need to meet the eligibility criteria for the program but must provide proof of relationship such as a marriage certificate. If the application is approved, your spouse will receive the same length of residency as you, allowing them to live, work, and study in Canada.

Any dependent children under the age of 22 can also be included on a Start-Up Visa application if they are unmarried and have cleared the medical examination. They do not need to meet any eligibility criteria to be approved for residency. Dependent children will receive the same length of residency as you, allowing them to live, work, and study in Canada. Children over the age of 22 will need to apply through a separate program to obtain residency.

Application Process

The application process for the Start-Up Visa (SUV) program typically takes 24-30 months to complete. Here’s what you can expect:

MONTHS 1-24

Client's onboarding and obtaining startup visa

Client onboarding at Caribbean Islands Immigration Services starts with Form 1 to conduct the initial evaluation. After a successful screening, we'll send you a Client Agreement (CA) for your review and signature.

Once we receive the duly signed agreement and the required retainer payment, the legal team at Caribbean Islands Immigration services will guide you through the completion of the client business concept requirement. In collaboration with the Canadian Government Designated Organization (DO), we will pair you with the founder of the start-up and two to three other applicants. This step also entails obtaining a letter of support from a designated organization.

To proceed further, it is necessary to make the primary investment. Rest assured, we will act as the intermediary, maintaining communication with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on your behalf.

Throughout the process, you will receive complete assistance in preparing files and completion of necessary documentation. Moreover, we will facilitate your medical and security verification procedures to ensure a smooth progression.

Upon arrival in Canada, you will be issued a Permanent Resident (PR) card and complete the necessary steps to finalize the agreement and make the initial payment. The Designated Organization (DO) will then match you with the founder and two to three other applicants, requiring you to fulfill the primary investment.
